Robert is a graduate of the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (recently renamed Sofia University) with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology. He also is a graduate of Scranton University with a Master of Science degree in Eastern Studies and Comparative Psychology.
Robert is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and a member of the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP).
Robert is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a couples counseling approach that helps facilitate the creation of secure, lasting bonds between intimate partners and family members (with the goal of helping those in treatment increase security, closeness, and connection in intimate relationships).
Robert is a Trauma Informed Care (TIC) practitioner who promotes a culture of safety, empowerment, choice and healing. Trauma-informed care means treating a whole person, taking into account past trauma and the resulting coping mechanisms when attempting to understand behaviors and treat the client. He is also trained in EMDR.
Robert has a certificate in Creative Expression from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology and incorporates Expressive Arts Therapy into sessions when a client is interested. He has led music therapy groups for several years.
