There is an amusing cartoon from the ‘New Yorker’ that depicts a farmer and his son standing next to a large barn door that is heavily fortified with chains and a huge padlock. The caption reads: “This is the barn where we keep our feelings. If a feeling comes to you, bring it out here and lock it up.” Part of my approach to psychotherapy is to create a safe space or ‘container’ to explore feelings that affect you most deeply in your love, work, creative and spiritual life, and often hold the key to desired change/transformation.
I have a Holistic, Mindfulness based approach to therapy. Whether you are seeking treatment for a specific condition or need help with managing the challenges in your life, I pay attention to all the parts of the human system (self, body, mind, emotion, spirituality, relationships) and help you bring them into balance. I have a compassionate, non-judgmental way of helping my clients become more self-aware and empower them to tap into their inner resources. I am passionate about helping others and use my knowledge, creativity, and humor to help transform and improve the way you experience yourself and the world around you.
I am experienced in working with individuals, couples, and groups. I have helped people with a wide range of issues including but not limited to addiction (chemical, sexual, love/relationship), anxiety and depression, anger problems, communication, sexual problems, couples/relationship issues, social difficulties, self-esteem, and existential/spiritual issues. I regard each person’s therapy as unique in terms of goals, pace, content, and the nature of our working relationship.
